Walk in ART is a monthly event hosted in Hillcrest in Mural Alley (South of University between 4th and 5th St). Expect a night filled with lively entertainment, art, food, and music in and around Mural Alley. Mural Alley is a classic urban alley that has been fully transformed and adopted by muralists. Walk in ART features unique vendors, creative food offerings with a range of delicious dishes, music, and surprise performances.

Live Music: Rhythm & Root
Formerly known as the Familiar Faces, Brody Logan Hess’s jam collective returns to the Walk in Art stage with another session of curated collaboration between some of San Diego’s best musicians. Drawing influence from Funk, R&B, Soul, Jazz, and Rock, Rhythm & Root performs improvised interpretations of tracks both known and unknown with unexpected twists and surprise guest performers. After numerous performances at Prohibition, Walk in Art, and CityFest, Rhythm & Root launches their new monthly residency, “Essential Goods,” at The Soap Factory on Monday, May 20th.
PhxPhy - 5 pm
PhxPhy: Short for Phoenix Philosophy, is a San Diego-based DJ and musician who specializes in fun grooves and good vibes. You can find him out and about supporting local art or cooking up sonic textures in his home studio.

I’m a visual artist and potter whose products include hand-drawn originals and prints, stickers, and pottery in a unique style that translates similarly between mediums. My primary purpose in participating in markets and events is to inspire others to connect with their own creativity and find the beauty in everyday life through in-person connection – I believe this is what strengthens communities.

Featured Cocktail: Strawberry Smash
Our featured cocktail for tonight's Walk in ART is the Strawberry Smash! That's a healthy pour of Wheatley Vodka over ice and shaken with strawberry lemonade. This refreshing summer cocktail is garnished with strawberries.
The bar also has a selection of specialty cocktails, beer, seltzers, and non-alcoholic beverages available to purchase from the bar.
Happy Hour: 5-7 pm with $2 off all drinks.

At the heart of Walk in A.R.T. is art! We want to showcase the best creatives that Hillcrest (and San Diego) have to offer. We have booths available to rent, a monthly opportunity for a free space for a Featured Artist, and paid time slots for creative performers. We also offer a range of opportunities for artists at our other events such as Hillcrest CityFest. Join our The Fabulous Hillcrest Artist Network and get involved or register for a booth space today.
