HOW IT WORKS: This holiday season, Hillcrest retail shops and restaurants will be offering raffle tickets to customers who purchase items in their establishments throughout the Holiday season. Fill out the free raffle ticket with the required information. At the end of the holiday season, one lucky Hillcrest-shopper will win a Fabulous Hillcrest shopping spree in Hillcrest gift cards and services!

SHOP Hillcrest for the Holidays is the best way to check everyone’s gift off your list and enter yourself into the gift-card drawing* all while supporting your local community. Look for posters around the neighborhood like the one pictured on the left for participating locations. Small Business Saturday

The Hillcrest Business Association will be hosting a #ShopSmall #WelcomeStation. The welcome station will be located at the corner of 5th Avenue and University.  Join us for treats and entertainment. The welcome station will have neighborhood maps, information on Shop Hillcrest For The Holidays and tickets for Taste 'n' Tini's.  Live & Let Live Alano Club will be there to sell Ugly Sweaters, and will also provide gift wrapping for a small donation.

Show us your receipt from any purchase between 9am-4:30 pm from any participating business and get a FREE goodie bag (limited to first 200 people).

Hillcrest Taste 'n' Tinis

Classic cocktail parties will have a new sparkle this season when one of San Diego's most beloved neighborhoods serves up a festive way to enjoy the holiday season. On Thursday, December 14th, 2017 from 4 PM to 9 PM, take in the crisp winter air and holiday decorations, while you embark on a self-guided walking tour of attractive drinks, captivating eats and fabulous local shopping during Hillcrest Taste N’ Tinis!  Participants will also have a FREE photo op with our "Naughty Santa" and the ability to purchase an ugly sweater at the Rite Aid will call booth.

Participating Hillcrest restaurants will offer an assortment of signature dishes, specialty appetizers, and decadent desserts. Take your mouth on a journey as you enjoy classic American, savory Italian, spicy Mexican, and other international dishes. Along with your guided tour, you will enjoy signature holiday martinis at different local retail locations.   

Tickets for this savory soiree are $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the event.  The first 250 ticket purchasers will receive a collectible branded martini glass without Taste 'n' Tinis logo. Participants in the cocktail portion of this event must be 21 years or older and have a valid photo ID to enter.

Classic Cars Cruise Into Hillcrest This November 18th.

Fabulous Hillcrest, MO’s Universe and Great Autos of Yesteryear present the Hillcrest Classic Car Show! 

Great Autos of Yesteryear is the largest LGBT car club on the West Coast with almost 1,000 members.   

The Hillcrest Classic Car Show takes place monthly on the third Saturday of the month from 1pm-4pm at Pride Plaza on Normal Street.  

Our first event featured over 35 cars and each monthly event will feature at least twenty car collectors for a “tire-kicking” good time – allowing members to share their love of cars with the public and other members.  And when it’s time to dine, enjoy one of the many restaurants and bars in Fabulous Hillcrest!  So roll down your windows, crank up the tunes and cruise on down for this fabulous new monthly event!

We all float down here in Hillcrest... and when you're down here with us, you'll float too! The highly anticipated “Nightmare on Normal Street” Halloween street party is taking place on Saturday, October 28, 2017. Come join us for a psychotic time and enjoy San Diego's #1  VOTED Costume Competition and Halloween Dance Party in San Diego. If you are in San Diego this is the place to be and you don’t want to miss out! There will be late night live entertainment, multiple costume competitions for you and for your furry, fuzzy, feathery pets- with sassy judges, and two gigantic bars and our all-new "Real Time - LIVE Audience Vote By Text!"

This event is 21+ and attendees must present a valid ID upon entry. Tickets are $20 Pre-Sale General Admission and $45 Pre-Sale VIP or $25 and $55 on the day of the event.

Eat, drink and be scary with our VIP pass for $45 (pre-sale), which includes two cocktails, $7 food credit, front-of-the-line access to get into the event, separate VIP Bar, private restrooms and private stage viewing. 



The evening’s chills and thrills include:

  • An “American Idol” format costume competition with local celebrity guest judges and prizes

  • Live audience fan voting via text message

  • Sponsored Main Stage with local DJs

  • Food trucks with delicious assortments

  • Massive block party with an outdoor dance floor

You will be given a time slot for your competition. Early arrival is suggested so you can show be the first to impress the judges and the crowd. PUNCTUALITY IS EVERYTHING. When it’s your time to be called, walk down the runway and show everyone what you got and be fierce.

* The pet competition will occur independently from the main competition and the pet winner will be announced after the voting process. 

Judging will take place through an elimination process. The judges will select three winners from each round to move on to the finals. The top finalist will compete for the grand prize. There will be second and third place winners who will also be awarded prizes.
